Sometimes the Universe speaks loud and clear. It almost shouts, because we are too dense and wrapped up in our lives to listen.
I had a few of these moments last week. One that was my own doing. One that my client owned.
I don’t work with too many males, but there is a young guy in particular I have been seeing for the past 2 months. One of his blocks is that he believes in mediocrity. Just getting by with the minimum expected works for him. There is a technical term for this… LAZY.
(It drives me bonkers when I see someone with great potential set such low expectations him or her self. It is a tragedy when people don’t share their gifts with the world.)
I love to use Oracle / Tarot cards at the end of sessions. I am always amazed at how accurate the messages are and frankly, even more tickled at how my clients respond to the cards. I can say the exact same thing for 40 minutes of the session, but in the last 10 minutes they pull and process their card, which again, reiterates pretty much the EXACT thing we have been talking about, and they say, “Wow, how does it know? I get it now”. This really means, “my coach is chopped liver”.
Hey, whatever gets the message across.
Over the past 2 months that I have been working with my young male client, he has pulled the “Vigilance” card 4 times from two DIFFERENT decks. He has also pulled the “Creative” card twice from the same deck. I rarely see this kind of repetition; it is quite laughable in an ironic sort of way. And we laughed a lot with vigilance #4, well at least I did because I could see it coming.
I amusingly noted the frustration in my client’s face. And I simply said to him, “you aren’t listening”. I told him that his higher power thinks it is a travesty that he is ok with laziness, and that he/she/it feels the need to finally make it totally obvious for you to get it.
Needless to say, this client started taking action and is now living more in line with his potential. He apparently started to listen.
I too pulled the same card for myself twice this week. And after my client’s experience, it didn’t take me but a second to tell the Universe, “ok, ok, I get it”.
We are often presented with plenty of signs of the path we are meant to follow. But instead of listening, we get so wrapped up in the yesterdays and tomorrows, and the fear of straying from our comfort zone, that we don’t pay attention. I am guilty of this too, and am working on being present so I can be a better listener and observer.
What messages or signs are you missing or choosing to ignore on a daily basis?
