We all go through some pretty difficult situations. It is inevitable and unescapable, even though some people believe that they can prevent feeling hurt, pain, and sadness by putting up a huge fortress around themselves.
This is just a false sense of security because even fortresses are penetrable. Plus, when you lock out the “bad”, you are also locking out all the good.
It is hard to see the positive when you feel numb and in a fog. It is easy, and sometimes really necessary, to just be the victim and sit in despair. But at some point, it is unhealthy to continue in this space and role. At some point, your soul and spirit need to surface again, so you can move forward.
I have learned over the years to honor my struggles. I honored my divorce. I honored my physical illness. I now honor the trying times that I am facing.

My divorce taught me to be independent, and let go of attaching “security” to a person. I really needed to learn that lesson to be emotionally healthy.
My physical illness taught me all about nutrition, how to feed MY body in order to reduce inflammation, and reverse my PCOS symptoms. It gave me a passion to teach others what I learned, and connected me with a soulmate business partner so we could create Foodtervention together. It jumpstarted my journey to improved emotional and spiritual health. For that, I am eternally grateful.
My current struggles are allowing me to step into a greater confidence that I didn’t even know I had or was even possible. And I couldn’t have done this without all the growth and wisdom I gained from my previous experiences. I can’t wait to see what transpires when I move out of this darkness into the light!
By embracing the greater gift you are getting from whatever you are facing, you can help ease the pain.
So wherever you are, honor yourself right now. Honor your strength to have gotten this far. Do some journaling and brainstorm the wisdom in what you believe to be a negative or painful experience. Reconnect with your soul voice; it will always tell you what you need.
