Take the flu. The virus is the problem. That sucker is having a PAR-TEE in your body, wrecking havoc on your system. Your symptoms are stuffy head, sneezing, aching, fever, so you get NO rest. You don't feel better until your immune system has eradicated Mr. Virus. And any medication you take, will only help relieve some of the stuff, ache, and fever.
Our emotional and mental health adheres to the same principal. Are you feeling depressed? Anxious? Can't focus? These are just symptoms of a greater issue. The question is WHY? Why are you feeling that way and what is the real problem that is creating the depression, anxiety, and brain fog? It could be past trauma, or a divorce. Or maybe your nutritional lifestyle sucks and you are feeding your body crap so you feel like crap.
Drug and alcohol abuse are also symptoms! WHY are you drowning your sorrows in booze and pills? No one wakes up and says, “I can't wait to do drugs today because they make me feel oh, so great!” They may make you temporarily forget, but you still feel awful.
