Shit happens, yup. But it doesn’t have to be “shitty”.
Here are 5 tips to help you deal when “bad” things happen.
First let’s do a mindset shift around the word “bad”. Bad only exists because we have assigned a negative connotation and energy to it. What would happen if you did not view things as good or bad, but rather saw them as opportunities? What would you look for in your experiences?
There is wisdom and a lesson in every single thing that happens to us. Now this might be hard to grasp because someone who was a victim of a violent crime would probably argue that there is no opportunity in being violated.
However, the things that we experience are what make us who we are, and help us make an impact in the world. How many women who are victims of rape go on to become a motivational speakers to spread awareness about what it means to be a survivor? Or they start an advocacy group to encourage stronger penalties for offenders? We would not have many of the role models we have today if they didn’t gain such wisdom from a difficult situation.
Trust that the Universe (or God) and your spirit guides have your back. Maybe there is a reason why your car broke down at that very spot at that very time. But we are so consumed with what has gone wrong that we forget to take a look around and find that of which we not seeing. This is especially important if you are into manifesting, because if you don’t keep your eyes open to the signs, then you may completely miss an opportunity that has been gifted to you.
Find a tool that can help you calm your physical body. If your brain senses danger, then you get a nice adrenaline boost that shuts down your observation skills and logical though. Now your body’s stress response is running the show. Your heart is beating fast, maybe the palms are getting sweaty, you know…
I like Tapping for this, however, you can use deep breathing, or maybe visualization to move energy through each of your Chakras to restore balance. Whatever works for you.
Accept that sometimes we just have to learn the hard way. That’s that. How did you learn not to put your hand on a hot stove? Yup. You tried it.
The reality is sometimes our “bad” experiences end up being blessings in disguise. So when you approach all of your experiences as the possibility of such, you totally shift the energy surrounding it. This in turn, leaves you open to all kinds of magical opportunities.
